Jake Allen gambled late Tuesday night and he came away empty handed and probably quite a bit embarrassed. In the Blues overtime period against the Colorado Avalanche, Allen attempted to leave his net and it had disastrous consequences as the goaltender missed completely, allowing Gabriel Landeskog to slam dunk the puck for the game-winner.

Goalies, stop leaving your crease!

The tally came after a two-goal comeback from the Avalanche that forced the overtime period, with the tying shot coming a minute and a half before the third period buzzer. After allowing the tying goal that kept Colorado in the game, Allen was clearly trying to do too much on this play and it backfired in the worst possible way.
Next time, Allen, stay in the crease and let your defenseman take care of the oncoming rush.
