Defenseman Brian Campbell signs with Blackhawks

Photo by Harry How/Getty ImagesAs rumored on June 30, 37-year-old Brian Campbell is now a member of the Chicago Blackhawks. The veteran defenseman will head to his No. 1 choice on a one-year, $2 million deal.
There were talks Campbell would be on the outs in Florida after the Panthers traded for then signed Rangers defenseman Keith Yandle to a seven-year deal. Pierre LeBrun broke the news an hour before the start of free agency, then later confirmed the report, adding that bonuses are likely part of the deal.

Ladd was brought to the Blackhawks at the trade deadline to bolster Chicago’s scoring touch. Even though the few months in Chicago did not work out, Ladd has moved on to a team on the rise in the Islanders, who have reportedly let go of Kyle Okposo.
