NFL betting, preseason odds focus on Miami Dolphins vs. Tampa Bay over under

Betting UNDER the total in Miami vs. Tampa preseason games has been a virtual lock over the years. Will this money-making trend continue in Week 2 NFL betting?

If you had bet $100 on the UNDER every time Miami played Tampa Bay in NFL preseason action over the past two decades, you’d have $1,400 in your wallet.

In 18 games between these Florida rivals, the UNDER is 16-2. On Saturday night, the Dolphins visit the Buccaneers, who are 2-point home favorites. The more interesting number, based on the aforementioned trend, is 37.5, which is the over-under posted by most sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Overall, Tampa is 8-2-1 ATS in its past 11 preseason clashes with Miami.

Week 2 of the NFL preseason schedule kicks off with the Chicago Bears hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars at Soldier Field.

Chicago is a 4-point favorite on Thursday night. Both Jacksonville and Chicago enter the game after winning and covering in their opening preseason games. The Bears are 2-0 SU and ATS in two games against Jacksonville since 2008.

Four games are scheduled for Friday night including a game between the San Diego Chargers and the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle. The betting trends do not bode well for the Chargers heading into this one as San Diego is 1-4 SU and 0-5 ATS in its last five games against the Seahawks overall.

Seattle is 5-0 SU and ATS in its last five preseason home games and is a 5.5-point favorite on Friday night.

A doubleheader is scheduled for Sunday with the early game featuring two Super Bowl favorites as the Denver Broncos visit the San Francisco 49ers. Denver enters the game with an 11-2 SU and 10-3 ATS record in its last 13 games against San Francisco and as a 3.5-point road underdog.

In the night game Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs are a 3-point underdog on the road against the Carolina Panthers.

Week 2 wraps up on Monday night when the Washington Redskins host the Cleveland Browns. Washington’s win over New England last week brought the Redskins to 11-2 SU and 10-3 ATS over their last 13 preseason games and a perfect 7-0 SU and ATS over their last seven.

Washington is the betting favorite at minus-3 over the Browns.
