New York Giants vs. Washington 2014 betting odds, preview and pick

Washington has been a profitable bet against the Giants lately. Will that trend continue in “Thursday Night Football” betting?

Washington is 5-2 SU and ATS in its last seven games as a home favorite and 5-2 ATS in its last seven games against the New York Giants. Washington hosts the Giants this Thursday night.

New York broke through with a win last week at home against Houston, but it might still be too early to trust the Giants on the road. Washington is a 3.5-point favorite according to sports books monitored by OddsShark.com and should be able to win and cover with the offense clicking well.

For most teams, losing a player of Robert Griffin III's caliber at quarterback would be devastating. But Washington has an excellent replacement in Kirk Cousins, who has passed for 677 yards and five touchdowns in two games so far this season. Washington has averaged 37.5 points per game in two games under Cousins and is 2-0 ATS.

New York at Washington begins at 8:25 p.m. ET on Thursday night at FedEx Field.

After getting off to an 0-2 SU and ATS start while averaging just 14 points per game, the Giants put everything together in a 30-17 win over Houston last Sunday. Eli Manning was sharp, Rashad Jennings had a career day with 176 rushing yards and the defense came up with three interceptions.

New York will need another sharp effort to exorcise its recent road demons as the Giants are just 3-10 SU and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games away from home.

The UNDER is 5-0 in the last five games between New York and Washington and 5-4 in New York’s last nine road games overall. This week’s total is set at 46 at sports books monitored by OddsShark.com.

With Philadelphia already two games ahead of both of these teams in the NFC East standings, this is a big game for both teams if they want to stay in the hunt for a division title.

New York’s effort against Houston was promising, but Washington’s excellent offense over the last two weeks and strong passing defense should lead Washington to cover as a 3.5-point favorite at home in NFL online betting this week.
