Penguins vs. Sharks 2016 odds: Pens lead Cup Final but sit as betting underdogs for Game 3
The Pittsburgh Penguins have a 2-0 lead in the Stanley Cup Final heading into San Jose to take on the home-favored Sharks on Saturday night.

Pittsburgh is a +120 road underdog in Saturday’s Game 3 at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. San Jose can close the series gap to 2-1 with a home win as a -140 favorite.
For the 11th straight game this postseason the Penguins outshot their opponent, this time holding the Sharks to just 22 shots in Game 2 while racking up 30 on Martin Jones.
The final score of a 2-1 win in overtime doesn’t do justice to how thoroughly the Penguins dominated this game, controlling the tempo for virtually the entire game while holding a 23-11 shot advantage at the second intermission. Many were predicting this series would be a shootout, but it has instead been lopsided in Pittsburgh’s favor early.
The Sharks are 8-2 in their last 10 games coming off of a loss per the OddsShark NHL Database. The Sharks are also 7-1 in their last eight games at home this postseason.
Despite being outplayed through most of Game 2, the Sharks had a chance to steal the game in overtime after Justin Braun tied it with 4:05 left in regulation. But when Conor Sheary buried the game-winner just 2:35 into overtime, San Jose fell to 0-4 in overtime games this postseason with the loss.
San Jose has never won a series after trailing 2-0, going 0-9 in its previous nine attempts.
Saturday night’s total is set at 5.5 goals. The UNDER is 5-1 in the last six games between the Sharks and the Penguins.
Throughout NHL history, 86.1 percent of teams that have taken a 2-0 series lead have gone on to win the series. The Sharks have the firepower to turn this series around in Game 3 at home, but their margin of error has shrunk considerably after dropping the first two games in Pittsburgh.
With four straight wins, Pittsburgh will just try to keep its foot on the pedal in San Jose.
