Beef Breakdown: Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul got into it with each other very early in the 2018-19 season and everyone wondered what the source of their beef was. Old Olympic team selection grudges? Frustration over perceived slights? Jealousy? Or maybe it’s a little bit of all three ... at least, as far as we know.
Best known for: Their fight in 2018, which became an instant classic, plus the following back and forth which first alerted the world to their long-simmering beef.
(8) LeBron James vs. Lance Stephenson
Beef Breakdown: Nobody would argue that LeBron James and Lance Stephenson have had anything close to similar careers in pro basketball, but when they were high school phenoms, the possibility didn’t seem all that impossible. Where LeBron met and even surpassed early expectations, Lance struggled, so once the two finally crossed paths in the NBA, it wasn’t star vs. star. It was pest vs. pestered.
Best Known For: The image of Lance blowing in LeBron’s ear is the only correct answer. It’s probably the most memed moment of any beef.
Matchup Prediction: This is actually a tough draw for the one-seed, but really just shows how stacked the region is. While CP3 vs. Rondo is the most watched video in Secret Base history and packs a massive punch, the feud between LeBron and Lance has some supreme starpower. If judged solely on the beef, this should tilt CP3 and Rondo’s direction, but Lance and LeBron have some serious Cinderella potential.
