Beef Breakdown: Shaq and David Robinson were presented as two totally different people, one flashy and interested in being a star on and off the court, the other humble and service-oriented. But when the beef between these two legends started, it sometimes brought out the worst in both.
Best Known For: Probably the pettiest 71 point scoring effort in NBA history when the Spurs fed The Admiral repeatedly throughout their final game of the season just so he could win the scoring title over Shaq
(5) Russell Westbrook vs. Patrick Beverley
Beef Breakdown: Westbrook arrived in the NBA as a touted lottery pick. Beverley was a stashed second-rounder who bounced around Europe before getting his shot. Early in Beverley’s NBA career, they collided ... literally. Beverley lunged at Westbrook’s legs, and the resulting knee injury ended Westbrook’s ironman streak, ended the Thunder’s title hopes, and started several years of medium-rare beef on and off the court.
Best Known For: Their run in during the 2013 playoffs ignited and fully defined this feud. Take care of your knees, y’all.
Matchup Prediction: This is a true 4-5 matchup. Shaq and Robinson is an OG beef, both in terms of when it occurred but also it’s the second episode we ever made. However, Westbrook and Beverley capture proper beef in a way that can be lacking in the NBA’s newest era. They both have extreme starpower, but given the recency of Westbrook-Beverley, don’t be surprised by an upset.
