Lurking at the edge of the Liverpool area as a ball was served into the box, Arteta was in position to gain possession when the cross was headed out of the area. One touch and then a strike through the ball, Arteta's shot came off the outside of his right foot and cut away from Pepe Reina as the Liverpool keeper was unable to get his left arm tothe ball.
Arteta's goal doubles Everton's lead, obtained on Tim Cahill's 33rd minute goal.
