Blackpool-Manchester City: Tangerines’ Pressure Leaves Manchester City Searching For A Way In

Blackpool have been a joy to watch this season, and this match is no exception. On paper, Manchester City’s £198 million squad should be running rampant over Blackpool’s £2 million side. Yet the visitors are struggling to find a toehold in the match.

Save for the last few minutes of the first half, the Citizens have been chasing the game. Unfortunately, the Tangerines have been unable to convert possession into goals—Luke Varney forced a save from Joe Hart, but the rest of Blackpool’s shots have gone far off-target.

We return to the second half scoreless, with Manchester City both looking to shut down the likes of Charlie Adam and Luke Varney, while trying to get past what has been a surprisingly tight Tangerine defense.
