Spurs at times looked like the kind of team who played out a desperate midweek Champions League tie against the European Champions away. Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Everton, Final: Point Shared Between Spurs And Toffees
1-1 was ultimately a fair result in a match that saw the majority of the action play out in the first half, the second half resulting in a series of half chances and crosses into the box easily gobbled up by the respective keepers.
Will either team be heart broken by the result? Unlikely, but considering Everton’s injury crisis and Tottenham’s European commitments in recent days, both managers should take the point and positives away from a match which played out fairly equal.
Spurs Luka Modric and Rafael van der Vaart contributed the most creatively for the home side while it was Peter Crouch’s ineffectiveness up front that plagued Spurs attack.
For Everton, Aussie Tim Cahill attempted to provide a spark while Leighton Baines stunning free kick to open the scoring in the first half was the quality moment of the match for either side.
