Avram Grant’s West Ham United side have come to play today against Arsenal, taking a 0-0 score line into halftime. The visitors have defended well and have shown some attacking ambition as well. Mark Noble and Scott Parker have at least matched, if not bettered Alex Song and the invisible Denilson thus far. Cesc Fabregas has had an influence on the game with his passing, but West Ham have done well to limit the dangers he presents.
Arsenal 0-0 West Ham: Halftime Update, Robert Green On Form
Robert Green has been the biggest story, making a number of quality saves, mostly from close range opportunities. Arsenal’s best chances have all come from set pieces as they have failed to create anything significant from open play.
West Ham have been attacking with intent and putting in a great deal of effort going forward, but haven’t created any clear cut scoring opportunities. Frederic Piquionne, Mark Noble, and Victor Obinna have been their most dangerous players going forward.
Arsene Wenger is sure to make some adjustments at halftime and it would be surprising to see this match remain scoreless. As well as West Ham have played, it’s hard to deny the gap in quality between the two teams.
