Blackburn Rovers Fall To Chelsea 1-2 After Great Display
Chelsea won away at Blackburn Rovers to maintain their five point lead over rivals Arsenal and Manchester United, although it took a very late winner to secure what was probably an undeserved victory for Carlo Ancelotti's side. While Chelsea were the better team in the second half, the first was something of a disaster. Benjani's 21st minute goal for the home team was no fluke, as Blackburn were well and truly in the ascendancy:
For a full half hour thereafter Chelsea gave Rovers everything they could possibly want. Wayward passes from Johns Obi Mikel and Terry? Check. Loose ball control in our own half? Check? Aimless punts downfield in the rare instances we had possession? Oh yes. Giving Blackburn the time and space to play a rather good game of football rather than their usual brand of kick-it-really-hard? Well, I’m sure you can guess.
