Black And Red United Looks At Some Of The Storylines
It's hard want to make of the group of players DC United exposed to the Expansion Draft.
On one hand, this is a side that was one of the worst in the history of MLS by a variety of metrics from total points to goals scored.
Yet, they have some intriguing names dangling out there for the Vancouver Whitecaps and the Portland Timbers.
At the top of that list, according to Black and Red United's Martin Shatzer, is goalkeeper Troy Perkins.
Out of the three current starting goalkeepers left exposed across MLS, Troy Perkins has the best goals against average. He actually outperformed Chris Seitz and Pat Onstad this season. Perkins is 14 years younger than Onstad, and he’s got leadership qualities that Seitz may never possess.
Other players left exposed by United include Pablo Hernandez and Devon McTavish. None of them had particularly good seasons last year, but at one point or another have been considered promising players.
