Brede Hangeland gives Fulham a last minute point through a goal scored off a Danny Murphy free kick.
Fulham 1-1 Aston Villa: Brede Hangeland Scores Last Minute Equalizer
A foul by Marc Albrighton gave the home side a free kick in a dangerous area. Murphy took the kick and sent it floating across the crowded box to where Hangeland was waiting at the far post. Ciaran Clark was absent while James Collins and Stephen Warnock could do nothing to stop Hangeland's header, which beat Brad Friedel to get the equalizer.
Aston Villa fielded a young side, and inexperience started to show in the second half of the game. Fulham had been pressing for the point for the entirety of the last 45 minutes, creating plenty of chances. However, the Aston Villa defense was always there to knock the ball away, with Richard Dunne finally looking like the defender he was last season. In the end, though, the visitors just couldn't hold back the white wave, and Fulham once again find themselves a draw.
