In what's turned out to be an incredibly dramatic and entertaining match, Chelsea have now taken a late 3-2 lead at Stamford Bridge courtesy of an 89th minute John Terry strike which looks to be enough to claim all three points for the Blues. In the last 15 minutes, Chelsea have been close to their best as they've made the most of their dominance in possession by creating chances and forcing Brad Friedel into making numerous saves.
Chelsea Vs. Aston Villa: John Terry Finds Late Goal To Put Chelsea 3-2 Up
Chelsea's third came when a Michael Essien cross into the box met the head of Didier Drogba who headed on goal and forced Friedel into making a well timed save. Friedel's save however produced a rebound that trickled its way into the path of Terry who was just inside the box and struck the ball down into the ground and past Friedel for Chelsea's third of the day and what looks to be a valuable winner.
As five minutes of stoppage time has been added, it’s highly likely that the scoring isn’t yet finished on the day and that either team could still lay claim to all three points or that a point each could be shared.
