Fulham FC Vs. Liverpool FC: Clint Dempsey Goes Close, Zoltan Gera Comes On

Clint Dempsey nearly made up for his role as primary culprit in John Pantsil's own goal with a wonderful scissor-volley. As a cross came in from his right, it didn't look as though the American would be able to get anywhere near it, but he leaped up, spun, and send a stinging shot towards goal. Unfortunately for him, Pepe Reina is no slouch, and the Spaniard got down quickly to smother the ball. It would have been a spectacular goal had it gone in.

Meanwhile, Fulham manager Mark Hughes has decided to take out his frustrations regarding the own goal by warming himself up on the touchline. The former Manchester United star got a round of applause from Kenny Daglish after a nifty juggling act when the ball went out for a Fulham throw - Hughes will be hoping that his team can display half the skill he just did in the technical area.

Hughes isn't just playing with the ball though - he's also introduced Zoltan Gera for Damien Duff on the right hand side, which means Fulham are playing in a shape suspiciously akin to 4-2-4 while in possession. The move won't help the defence at all, but the Cottagers need a goal. This might help them get it.
