    At last check, de Gea said that his transfer to Manchester United that the club confirmed back in May had not been finalized after months of speculation that he’d move to the Red Devils. de Gear said would not consider his future with United or any other club until after the European U-21 Championship. Now that the tournament is over, and de Gea has a winner’s medal after Spain won the title, de Gea is back to considering his future and his future appears to be Manchester United with the goalkeeper undergoing a medal in Manchester on Monday.

    “There’s no doubt that David will become a very, very good player, because he has the talent.” Forlan said. “He is tall, strong on crosses, a good shot stopper and distributes the ball very well. I suppose he is similar to Van der Sar in a lot of ways. Even though he is very young, he gives a lot of confidence to his defenders and has a lot of talent.”

    Despite Manchester United confirming reports that they had agreed to buy goalkeeper David de Gea from Atletico Madrid, de Gea said on Thursday that the deal is not done. He said that he will not consider his future until after the U-21 European Championships, according to his lawyer.

    “News has appeared in various media outlets that Atlético Madrid’s David de Gea has signed for Manchester United. I hereby notify you that it is not true a deal has been signed. De Gea will not consider the contract extension offer from Atlético or any other offer until June 30 when he has finished his commitments with the Under-21 national team.”
