For all the talk of Michael Bradley-to-Aston Villa, there had yet to be official confirmation, until now. The EPL team, which has now climbed six points clear of relegation, confirmed on their website that they are in loan negotiations for the United States midfielder.
Aston Villa Confirms Michael Bradley Contract Talks
Villa can confirm that talks with Michael Bradley are at an advanced stage for a loan move until the end of the season.
The midfielder is due for a medical and discussions on personal terms in the next 24 hours.
Since going through an eight-match stretch in which they claimed just four points and slipped into a battle against relegation, Aston Villa has now won two straight and claimed seven points in their last three. In that time, they’ve moved up to the 13th spot in the table.
Bradley, who is coming off an impressive showing in the most recent World Cup, has been playing for German side Borussia Monchengladbach, which is now locked in a relegation battle of their own. The 23-year-old has been playing in Europe since transferring from MLS in 2006, but this will be his first experience in the EPL.
The news comes at the same time that reports of Aston Villa is allowing Stephen Ireland to sign with Newcastle. Ireland came to Villa Park in a summer transfer from Manchester City.
