Sevilla have started the second half in storming fashion and quickfire goals from Luis Fabiano and Frederic Kanoute in the 63rd and 65th minutes have seen the away side take a 2-3 lead. Gregorio Manzano had seen enough on the hour mark and sent on marksman Alvaro Negredo for the dissapointing Renato and the move has paid instant dividends.
Real Sociedad Vs Sevilla: Goals from Luis Fabiano And Kanoute Put Sevilla Ahead
Sevilla second equaliser came from another Perotti corner and owed as much to Real Sociedads haphazard defending than Negredos opportunism. The ball fell to the subsitute striker who fired across goal, where the predator Fabiano was lying in wait. The Brazilian got his toe to the ball just before the defender had a chance to clear from about half a metre out to draw his team on level terms.
Two minutes later, Sevilla found themselves ahead. A quick break saw Negredo bring the ball forward, and a fine pass found Frederic Kanoute all alone in the Sociedad box, with the big striker clipping the ball just inside Bravos near post. It was a brave move from Manzano to bring on a third striker and switch to what is effectively a 4-3-3, but the ‘professor’ has once again proved that when it comes to tactical switches, there are few finer managers in La Liga. The onus is now on Real Sociedad to find a route back into the match.
Andres Palop was replaced with young Javi Vargas at half-time. It’s unclear as to whether it was a forced change or a tactical switch, but after a disaster of a first half, it would appear Manzano decided to put Palop out of his misery.
