Paraguay and Uruguay followed the script perfectly for 92 minutes. In the first half, Paraguay sat back while Uruguay attacked, but cautiously. The visitors were the better team, but failed to break down their hosts. They were slightly more aggressive in the second half, and finally found their goal in the 67th minute. That should have been the only goal of the match, but Paraguay decided to deviate from the script in stoppage time.
Paraguay Vs. Uruguay, CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying 2014: Full Time, Paraguay Steal Point At The Death
On a set piece, Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera flapped aimlessly at the ball, allowing Richard Ortiz to score a 93rd minute equalizer from inside the six-yard box. Paraguay now have one point from two matches in World Cup qualifying, and it’s probably one point more than they deserve.
Uruguay's goal was an absolutely brilliant one. Luis Suarez weaved through two defenders in the box before providing a perfect pass for Diego Forlan to tap in at the far post, but it wasn't enough in the end. Paraguay played for a draw from the start, and they managed to achieve the desired result at the death.
