Gonzalo Higuain Is Really Good

Real Madrid are having a decent little season but not enough people are talking about the season Gonzalo Higuain is having. Since returning to a regular starter’s role with Madrid in late September, the Argentinian forward has scored a remarkable ten goals for club and country. And that doesn’t even tell the half of the run of form he’s on...

Why yes, that is three hat-tricks in four games. I don’t think any further words would really do that feat justice. The man is on one of the most absurd scoring streaks I’ve ever seen.

Real Madrid's next opponents are Lyon in the Champions League, and if they have any sense at all they'll have someone man-marking the striker. Oh, and they'll have to get someone tracking Cristiano Ronaldo too. And Mesut Ozil. Kaka's probably a big threat as well. Actually, Lyon, if Higuain is going to stay in this sort of mood, you might as well just give up.

Iran thought they had advanced to the 2026 FIFA World Cup knockout round. A less frequent aspect of the offside law disallowed the winning goal.
