Barcelona need a win against lowly Racing Santander to match Real Madrid's 4-1 victory over Real Betis from earlier today, but the champions of Spain, Europe, and probably the whole universe look well on course for yet another demolition job, ahead 2-0 at halftime. Nothing the visitors have done has indicated that they'll be anything like a threat to mount a comeback at the Nou Camp - Barcelona probably have three points in the bag.
Barcelona Vs. Racing Santander, 2011 La Liga: Barca Cruising, Up At Halftime
Lionel Messi started it, of course, wandering breezily through Racing's defence, sidestepping goalkeeper Tono and rolling the ball into the empty net, and then Xavi made it even worse, scoring a rare headed goal a quarter of an hour later. Barcelona have had more chances to score - Messi managed to miss a (difficult) empty net chance after leaving Tono for dead for the second time in a half, but they probably won't rue their wasted opportunities.
Oh, and the key number here: 82 percent Barcelona possession. Wow.
