Manchester United Vs. Manchester City, 2011 Premier League: Johnny Evans Sent Off

We're back underway in the second half of Manchester United vs. Manchester City, and about twenty seconds had gone by before something big happened. Johnny Evans let Mario Balotelli get in behind him and the defender opts to seize his arm and hold him back at the top of the penalty box, with nobody else between the goalscorer and David de Gea. Balotelli thinks about it, sizing up the situation, realises what would happen if he didn't stay on his feet, and stops trying to, going down in a heap.

That’s a clear red card, and Mark Clattenburg has very little chance but to send the defender off, which puts United down to ten men. Fortunately for the hosts, it’s just barely outside the penalty box, and Balotelli smacks the free kick straight into the wall. But they’re down 1-0 to their arch-rivals and will have to play an entire half with ten men. They’re in some trouble here.
