It appears that the Superlider Curse lives on. Queretaro have a 1-0 lead over top-seeded Chivas Guadalajara after just eight minutes, thanks to an absolutely stunning goal by their leading scorer Carlos Bueno. The former Uruguayan international added his 11th goal of the season, curling a shot past Chivas backup keeper Victor Hugo Hernandez.
Queretaro Vs. Chivas Guadalajara Live, 2011 Apertura Liguilla: Carlos Bueno Scores A Stunner
There were concerns about Hernandez coming into this game, but none of the blame for his goal falls on him. It was such a brilliant strike that Luis Michel would have had literally no chance. Receiving the ball at his feet at the edge of the 18-yard area, Bueno made a fantastic turn and made himself a shooting lane. With his left foot, he curled a brilliant shot to the upper 90 at the far post, placing it in a spot where literally no keeper could have saved it.
Queretaro have 170+ minutes left to go, but they’re off to an absolutely spectacular start in this Liguilla tie.
