Argentina and Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, fined two weeks' wages after being found guilty of several misconduct charges by his club, allowed Tuesday's appeal deadline to pass without launching a legal challenge, leading some to believe that the stormy waters of his relationship with City had subsided, just a little bit. Wrong. Wrong wrong wrong.
Carlos Tevez Skips Out On Manchester City Training
As it turns out, Tevez had better things to do than simply appealing. Instead, he opted to fly off to Argentina in direct defiance of the club's request he stick to his training program, and now they're a little bit vexed about it. Tevez, for his part, is playing the 'I missed my family card' which is fair enough, but he's still under contract with the team and despite his desire to leave isn't really doing himself any favours by continuing to defy the club, who are now considering legal action. A Manchester City official has stated that the former captain is 'coming close to burning his bridges' - and that rather raises the question of what he would have to do to completely burn his bridges. Murder Roberto Mancini? Set the Etihad Stadium on fire? Wear a Manchester United top in public?
