After refusing to enter Manchester City's UEFA Champions League match against Bayern Munich as a substitute, the club has suspended him for a maximum of two weeks, pending a review. While the club is reviewing the situation, Tevez will not be allowed to take place in training or matches.
Carlos Tevez Suspended By Manchester City After Refusing To Play Against Bayern Munich
In his post-match press conference, Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini hinted that he did not intend to let Tevez play for the club ever again. The club is only taking the step of keeping him out of the team for two weeks, but it seems unlikely that the higher ups would step in if Mancini did not include Tevez in his 18-man matchday squads following the suspension period, should be be so inclined.
The club said, in a statement:
"Manchester City can confirm that striker Carlos Tevez has been suspended until further notice for a maximum period of two weeks. The player's suspension is pending a full review into his alleged conduct during Tuesday evening's 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich. The player will not be considered for selection or take part in training whilst the review is under way."
