Bolton Vs. Everton FC: Right Knee Injury Sees Zat Knight Leave After 25 Minutes

David Wheater, acquired from Middlesbrough in the January window, has come in under unfortunate circumstances at the Reebok, with an apparent knee injury incurred by Zat Knight forcing the withdrawal of Bolton's starting center half. Stretching with this right leg to block a shot by Victor Anichebe, the Trotter defender saw his Nigerian counterpart fall on the side of his leg, forcing the joint to bend at a strange angle.

Knight spent a few minutes on the pitch getting attention before walking gingerly to the sidelines while a corner was taken. At the next stoppage he tried to come back, but two steps into play was all he needed to know his knee was not working. Knight again collapsed to the field, this time to be removed by stretcher, with Wheater getting the call from Owen Coyle.

The injury comes in a relatively evenly played match, though Gary Cahill's early goal means Everton, at some point, will need to tip the scales. For now, the match remains 1-0, Bolton, at the half hour mark.
