Early on in this UEFA Champions League round of 16 match neither team has completely gotten on the front foot. Inter MIlan almost went ahead in the second minute when Wesley Sneijder's free kick was headed just wide of the post, but then Bayern Munich went forward and maintained their share of possession from then on. With both teams having gotten their feet wet and settled in it is expected that they be able to better establish the type of play they're looking for, but Sniejder karate kicking Philipp Lahm was not what anyone was looking for.
Inter Milan Vs. Bayern Munich: Sneijder Karate Kicks Lahm
The Dutchman had an opportunity to get a high ball and took a kick at it, only he missed and caught the diminutive Lahm in the soulder. Just a bit higher and Lahm would have needed a trip to the dentist. Of course Sneijder wasn’t punished with a card for his kick because, well no one is quite sure why, but he wasn’t. Now Sneijder will have to find his way into the match for kicking the ball and not Lahm.
