Manchester United have had two attacks of note, but they've grabbed the lead at the DW Stadium thanks to a cute finish by young striker Javier Hernandez. Just moments after a last-ditch tackle from Maynor Figueroa stopped him from going clean through on goal, Hernandez slipped his marker in the six-yard box to turn home a low cross from Nani past Ali Al-Habsi. A goal very much against the run of play, but United can burn teams on the counter-attack, especially if their opposition defends like that.

Wigan immediately had the chance to level the scoring - they're looking very dangerous going forward - but van der Sar again denied them when they looked certain to score. A cross from Victor Moses was quite brilliantly flicked towards the back post by Charles N'Zogbia, and James McCarthy's goalbound shot was somehow beaten away at point blank-range by the 40 year-old goalkeeper. Open game, this.
