Wigan Athletic Vs. Manchester United: Nani Hits Post, Gives Wigan Another Scare

After slicing Manchester United apart repeatedly with slick ground passes, Wigan now seem to be resorting to pumping in looping crosses, which are Nemanja Vidic's bread and butter*. Needless to say, they're not having much success, and the visitors are exerting a little more control of the match. United aren't exactly looking great in midfield, but they're certainly a lot more comfortable than they were before Javier Hernandez opened up the scoring. Up front, however, they look totally capable of scoring with every attack - Nani's just smashed the post after easily beating Ali Al-Habsi with a wicked bending shot from the edge of the area.

It's not all good news for United, however - Wayne Rooney was clipped just after feeding Nani for that chance, and the England striker's gone down in some pain, having had to leave the pitch for treatment. He's back on the field now, but still not moving that well, which is not good news at all for the visitors with a trip to Chelsea coming up in just three days.
