Sunderland have been the better team but Stoke City just found a very deserved equalizer. The Potters have continued to test Sunderland's defense throughout the final portion of the second half and just moments ago found the leveler they were looking for while either side could still claim all three points.
Stoke City Vs. Sunderland: Robert Huth’s Touch On The Line Equalizes For Potters
Jermaine Pennant stood over a Stoke City set piece and brilliantly served a cross into a full box. John Carew met the ball and Craig Gordon was only able to get a touch on the attempt as the ball roamed freely. Meanwhile, Robert Huth had nipped in from the back post and gave the ball the slightest of touches to make sure it found the back of the net.
While Stoke City, through wingers Matthew Etherington and Pennant, have yet to give up and deserve credit for fighting back twice, their second goal, not unlike their first, could have been ruled offside. Now in stoppage time, the score remains level at two each with four minutes of stoppage time added.
