Carlos Tevez, misser of many recent penalties, has scored from the spot to give Manchester City a 1-0 lead. Mark Atkinson decided that Stephen Reid had fouled left-back-cum-left-winger Aleksandar Kolarov in the area. Tevez stepped up and sent a low shot, not struck so hard as usual, to Boaz Myhill's left, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way. Manchester City have not lost a game in which Carlos Tevez has scored for them in the league, and have won 22 of 24.
Manchester City Vs. West Bromwich Albion: Tevez Scores Twice
That win conversion rate goes up in games in which Carlos Tevez has scored twice, and now he's done that. It was a rather prettier goal than the penalty, too. The Argentine striker played a neat one-two with David Silva to get himself into the penalty box, hurdled a desperate sliding challenge from Jonas Olsson, and then had all the time in the world to slot past Boaz Myhill from eight yards out. Tough hour ahead for Roberto Di Matteo's side, I'd say.
