Chelsea are well in charge of the proceeding at Stamford Bridge but they've been unable to break a resolute Manchester City defence in the first half. Salomon Kalou, preferred over both Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka, has had a fine performance, working hard and finding space, and strike partner Fernando Torres has likewise been excellent. On the other end of the pitch, City have been fairly unconvincing despite starting strongly - Edin Dzeko is clearly no Carlos Tevez (the Argentinian forward is sitting in the stands after a groin injury ruled him out of the match) and he doesn't look comfortable against the partnership of John Terry and David Luiz.
Chelsea FC Vs. Manchester City: 0-0 At Half Time
The hosts have had the bulk of the chances, and they should probably have had a penalty when Ramires' cross struck Joleon Lescott on the bottom of an outstretched arm, but still haven't managed to overly trouble Joe Hart in the Manchester City goal. Vincent Kompany and Nigel de Jong have both come up with key tackles in dangerous positions, and the one time Chelsea did manage to get a shot away and on target Kalou's effort was just too close to the goalkeeper.
So, advantage Chelsea for now, but at 0-0 it would be easy for Manchester City to sneak a goal and the points.
