As far as "hype videos" go, I'm not sure this is really anything super special. I've seen a few of these that Real Salt Lake has put out and a lot of it is stock footage that they just recycle for each opponent.
The Rocky Mountain Cup Hype Train Is Pulling Out Of The Station
Yet, here I am getting goosebumps. Maybe it's because I know Wednesday's first installment of the 2011 Rocky Mountain Cup promises to be something special. Maybe it's because I'm a sucker for anything with bass drums and fancy graphics. Honestly, I'm not sure that I can entirely explain it.
But I do know that this is going to be a really good match. It's not every year that we get geographic rivalries in which the two teams are among the best in their league. But that's exactly what we have here. Real Salt Lake is clearly the class of the league right now, but the Colorado Rapids are one of the few teams that have shown an ability to stand toe-to-toe with them. Should be epic.
