First the important bit - our current understanding of the Jamie Carragher injury is that the centre back is sitting up and talking to the Liverpool medical staff, which is fantastic news. That injury looked terrifying when it happened, and watching him get oxygen in a neck brace and not moving around was pretty horrible. I'm glad he's apparently relatively ok. Andy Carroll is now off the pitch as well, the forward unable to adequately recover from that knee injury he sustained in the early stages of the half.
Arsenal Vs. Liverpool: Jamie Carragher Injury Update; Robin Van Persie Wastes Chance For Winner
Back to the pitch - Robin van Persie has just spurned a glorious chance to win the match for Arsenal and preserve their hunt for the title. Having been put through by a neat pass from Samir Nasri, the Dutch striker was denied by Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina, who then made another fine stop to prevent Nicklas Bendtner from lashing in the rebound. No matter how good the save was, however, van Persie should have buried that. He was clean through!
