So... that happened. Luis Suarez drove the free kick straight into the wall, and it was going out of play when for some reason Emmanuel Eboue decided to tangle with Liverpool midfielder Lucas. Lucas went to ground (very easily), and the referee pointed straight to the spot! Astonishingly, just moments after Arsenal converted an injury time penalty, Liverpool are set to do the same - in the twelfth minute of stoppages.

Up stepped Dirk Kuyt to hammer the ball home. Wojciech Szczesney guessed the right way, but he had absolutely no chance of stopping that shot. The full time whistle blows as Arsenal pick the ball out of their own net, and that's the title well and truly going to Old Trafford then. Arsene Wenger is furious with the referee, but what on earth was Eboue thinking even getting that close to Lucas in the first place? It might not have been a penalty, but the right back should never have been there to begin with. What an extraordinary finish.
