DC United Vs. New York Red Bulls: Thierry Henry Strikes Again

After going seven matches without a goal, Thierry Henry has now scored in two straight. His goal in the 12th minute off an assist from Jan Gunnar Solli gave the New York Red Bulls a 1-0 lead over DC United on Thursday.

This one came in remarkably similar fashion as his previous goal. Once again, Henry struck the ball on a header that came off a cross from the far side. Henry's strike easily beat United goalkeeper Bill Hamid.

The goal gives Henry four goals in 15 MLS matches since joining the Red Bulls in July of last year. Prior to his recent goal-scoring “binge,” Henry was starting to show some frustrations with his inability to convert quality chances into goals. He had missed several chances in his last match before finally converting toward the end of what was already looking like a blowout. From the look of things, maybe that was exactly what he needed to get going.
