The striker, who replaced Goran Pandev with thirty minutes to go, was determined to show the world that he deserved to be in the starting lineup. As the visitors continued to pressure the Cesena defense, it seemed Pazzini was on the end of every ball, desperate to get one in the back of the net. Two headers in quick succession flashed just wide. And then the substitute managed to make an impact, connecting the bottom of his boot with a cross from Samuel Eto'o. The shot left Cesena goalkeeper Francesco Antonioli puzzled, unsure of himself, unable to figure out what on earth had just happened.
