Vedran Corluka’s night hasn’t been particularly fun (you try defending against Cristiano Ronaldo when your team is down to ten men) and now it’s gone from bad to worse as the Croatian has hobbled off with what appears to be an ankle injury. While he didn’t need a stretcher, he’s certainly not very happy, barely making it off the pitch under his own power and disappearing straight down the tunnel. With alternate right back Alan Hutton a long-term absentee after a knee injury, an injury to Corluka is pretty much the last thing Harry Redknapp would have wanted. Sebastian Bassong, Tottenham’s second substitute, replaces him.
