Ruud van Nistelrooy Injury: Will Play Final Match For Hamburg

Reports surfaced less than a month ago that the calf injury suffered by Hamburg star forward Ruud van Nistelrooy in a match with Hannover 96 would sideline him for the remainder of the season. Today, the forward announced his return to training via his Twitter account:

Today i trained with the team again! Tomorrow and friday training. Saturday will be my last game for HSV in the great Volkspark Stadium.less than a minute ago via ÜberSocial Favorite Retweet Reply

In the tweet, the Dutch striker also confirmed what we already knew, that Saturday’s match against Borussia Mönchengladbach will be his last in a Hamburg shirt.

In an interview last week with Bild, van Nistelrooy confirmed that a return to Spain or England is in his plans: "Spain would be great, but in the Premier League I have many good contacts. I will be a free agent this summer, with concrete offers."
