It’s time for the semifinals of the 2011 Clausura Liguilla in the Mexican Primera Division, and both first legs will be played tonight. The night kicks off with Chivas de Guadalajara, the competition’s No. 8 seed, and Pumas UNAM, the competition’s No. 2 seed.
Chivas Vs. Pumas, 2011 Liguilla: Lineups
Pumas had the best record in the Mexican Primera Division for most of the season, but Tigres snatched the top spot from them on the final day. They should probably be grateful, as Tigres are out with the “Super Leader Curse” striking again. They barely got through Monterrey, and now face a major test in Chivas, the team who upset Tigres.
Both teams have fairly typical lineups, with Chivas going 4-4-2 while Pumas use their normal three at the back setup.
Chivas lineup (4-4-2): Michel; Reynoso, Esparza, De Luna, Ponce; Baez, Araujo, Fabian, Medina; Torres, Arellano
Pumas lineup (3-4-3): A. Palacios; Veron, M. Palacios, Velarde; Fuentes, Castro, Cabrera, Cortes; Palencia, Bravo, Lopez
