There are four early games going in the English Premier League today in the build-up to the FA Cup, and there have been some serious shake-ups in the title and relegation races in the first 45 minutes of all of the games in England. Of course, Manchester United are still extremely heavy title favorites and would have to put together the choke of the century to finish lower than first, but Blackburn have put a wrench in their plans, going 1-0 up through Brett Emerton.
English Premier League Saturday, League-Wide Halftime Summary
The best viewing is over at Bloomfield Road, where Blackpool are fighting for their Premier League lives in style. Instead of emphasizing keeping a clean sheet like many teams near the bottom of the table like to do in these situations, Blackpool are going for it, and they have produced an entertaining game along with Bolton Wanderers. The Tangerines are 3-2 up in a wild, wide open match, and D.J. Campbell has a brace.
Wolverhampton Wanderers opened the scoring of their match against Sunderland through Jody Craddock, but Stephane Sessegnon has since equalized. It's 1-1 at halftime, and if all of today's scores hold, Wolves will be back in the drop zone.
West Brom is up 1-0 on Everton through Youssuf Mulumbu, who has had a great season for the Baggies. If their result holds, they will be up into the top half of the table.
