After “man-to-man discussions” between Diego and Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath, the club and player have decided to go their separate ways.
Wolfsburg And Diego To Go Separate Ways
After more than a month of discussions to find an amicable solution to their differences, Wolfsburg and Diego have decided to go their separate ways. Before the May 14 match at the Rhein-Neckar Arena against Hoffenheim, Diego walked out of the team locker room and left the arena when he found out that he was not in the starting eleven.
Diego and manager Felix Magath tried to hash out their differences in what the official VfL Wolfsburg website calls “man-to-man discussions”. After these discussions Magath said, “After these talks it was clear that working together would be difficult and that it would simply be better to go our seperate ways.” While he spends the summer searching for a new club, because he is still under contract with Wolfsburg he will train with them.
