After over ten years together, Andrea Pirlo and AC Milan parted ways last week, after Milan refused to offer the midfielder more than a one-year contract extension. In fact, Milan have now announced that they intend to offer extensions of no more than one year to any player aged thirty and over. Juventus, however, are perfectly happy to give the veteran not one but three years (insert your preferred La Vecchia Signora quip here) pending the medical he is reportedly having with the club today.
Juventus Transfer Rumors: Andrea Pirlo Undergoing Medical With Club
Should all go as planned, Juve will snap up Pirlo on a free transfer, and announce the signing later this week, possibly as early as Wednesday. It may have been only a few days since the season ended, but the bianconeri have already been mentioned in relation to several splashy signings, included Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero and Manchester United's Nani. Given the finances of the club, however, taking on an established veteran who comes with no transfer fee seems a much more logical step.
