Fulham will need some reinforcing if they want to take their Europa League campaign seriously and are looking to Portugal to find it. The Cottagers are apparently in the frame for 23-year-old Felipe Menezes, who is currently drifting in and out of the first team at Benfica and could fit in nicely with a club that doesn't always have a playmaking option in the centre of the pitch. His agent, Luiz Carlini, has apparently already had preliminary contact with the team, and he'll meet with them after the UEFA Champions League final between Manchester United and FC Barcelona.
Fulham FC Transfer Rumors: Benfica’s Felipe Menezes A Target For Cottagers
Fulham want Felipe and there’s a possibility the move could happen. Felipe wants regular football and the Premier League is a big option.
Fulham are an interested club which I’ve learned already. Let’s see. We have already been contacted by several clubs, but England would be an interesting option.
I’ll be honest and admit that I don’t know Felipe very well. The Brazilian midfielder has made just 11 appearances with Benfica, scoring zero goals in the process, after moving from hometown team Goiania in 2009. If Fulham do pursue his signature, they’ll probably do a loan-to-buy deal to get an extended trial out of the relative unknown first.
