English Football League Championship Playoffs Field Set

After the final day of the English Football League Championship season, the promotion playoff field has been set, and the race for the final promotion place will begin on Thursday, May 12. Swansea City, Cardiff City, Reading, and Nottingham Forest finished in the third through sixth positions and will make up the field of teams racing towards the richest game in world football, the Football League Championship Playoff Final at Wembley Stadium.

In the first legs of the semifinal home and away ties, Nottingham Forest will host Swansea City at the City Ground in Nottingham on Thursday, May 12. On Friday, May 13, Reading host Cardiff City at the Madejski Stadium in Reading. The return legs of the ties take place on Monday, May 16 for the Forest-Swansea tie and Tuesday, May 17 for the Reading-Cardiff tie. The playoff final will be played at Wembley Stadium on Monday, May 30, where the winner will become an estimated £80 million richer as a result of their victory.
