Palermo Transfer Rumors: Javier Pastore Wants To Leave

Palermo were more or less resigned to losing star midfielder Javier Pastore, but now the final card has been dealt: the Argentine has said he's ready to leave the Sicilian outfit. He's certainly attracting the attention of some of the biggest clubs, including Chelsea, Barcelona, and Manchester City -- but whoever wants him is going to have to cough up a large chunk of change. Palermo paid €19m for Pastore when he was 18 years old, and are looking for a high return on their investment, asking around €50 million for the 21 year old.

Although Palermo looked to be a legitimate challenger for a European position -- possibly even a Champions League spot -- they ended up finishing eighth in Serie A. Making it to the final of the Coppa Italia brought the club into the Europa League, but such an enticement is apparently not enough for Pastore, who wants to move on to bigger and better things. And possibly a kit featuring less pink.
