Bundesliga Transfer Rumors: Grafite On His Way to Al-Ahli (Dubai)

Wolfsburg striker Grafite appears to be on his way to the Middle East. According to Kicker, the Brazilian international is being lined up by Dubai club Al-Ahli.

Grafite is still under contract for another season at the Volkswagen Arena, so the Dubai-based club must pay a transfer fee. Welt Online is reporting that the transfer fee for Grafite would be €3 million.

Wolfsburg bought Grafite, 32, in the summer of 2007 for €5.6 million from Le Mans. The club were crowned Bundesliga champions for the first time in the 2008-2009 season. During that season, Grafite scored a league high 28 goals. His remarkable tally would see him named German Football of the Year becoming just the third foreign player to win the award. Grafite would see his goal totals dwindle drastically in the following two seasons. In 2009-2010, he only scored 11 goals, and in 2010-2011 he only managed 9 goals.

The deal is for a reported two years, but there has been no salary figures released. The transfer is not finalized at this point, but all signs point to it becoming official in the upcoming days.
