Liverpool are interested in the services of Sunderland midfielder and England U-21 international Jordan Henderson, according to a report from the Guardian. Henderson, 20, is valued at upwards of £20M thanks to his status as a home grown player and rising star in the England setup, but rumour has it that Sunderland have already had to fend away a substantial bid from Kenny Dalglish and Liverpool and may well have to weather further offers.
Liverpool FC Transfer Rumors: Reds Interested In Jordan Henderson
Fortunately for Sunderland, they're in a strong position with Henderson having signed a five-year contract last winter, and Liverpool look fairly congested in central midfield already with the likes of Lucas, Steven Gerrard and Raul Meireles all knocking about - a situtation that will only become more difficult if they manage to acquire Blackpool skipper Charlie Adam as well. It's something to keep an eye on, for sure, but by no means an inevitability.
