Monarcas Moreila Vs. Tempete FC, CONCACAF Champions League: Moreila Steamroll Tempete; Win 5-0

Monarcas Moreila demolished a rather sad Tempete FC side 5-0 in Mexico despite a rather poor first half that only saw the FMF side up by one goal. Joel Andrande scored from a corner in the 14th minute, but the expected barrage of goals failed to materialise, despite the hosts dominating possession against their Haitian opponents.
That was all to change after the hour mark, when Tempete goalkeeper Guerry Romondt fouled Miguel Sabah in the penalty area. It wasn’t a red-card worthy offence, but it was a penalty, and Sabah picked himself up and slammed home from the spot. If 1-0 didn’t break the visitors’ resolve, 2-0 certainly did, and within 15 minutes had conceded three times more, with Angel Sanchez, Joao Rojas and Jaime Lozano all finding the scoresheet.
It’d be nice to say that Tempete have some sort of chance of overturning the deficit at home. That’s not true for two reasons: The first is that they’re nowhere near good enough, and the second is because the second leg is also being played in Mexico due to Tempete’s stadium still being unusable thanks to the Haiti earthquake. Rough.
Anyway, that’s this tie over.
